McCleester, Susan ”JoAnne”, 72, passed away January 10, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. Born October 3, 1950, in Johnstown to the late Norman and Elizabeth (Stark) Makin Sr. Also preceded in death by siblings, William “Bill”, Norman II, Donna Kline, Randy, Robert, and Nancy Gilchrist. She was survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Mark; children, Scott (Paula) and Tammy (Nicholas) Grove; grandchildren, Megan (Shaun) Gregory, Kirsten (Ethan) Lehman, Brooke, Paige, Bryce and Madison; great grandchildren, Elliott, Scarlett and Stella; Sisters, Nellie Updegraff and Judy Scrader; brother, Eric Makin; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane, Diane, and Billie; brother in-law, Harvey. Anyone who knew JoAnne would tell you she had a huge heart. She never wanted anyone to be without, especially kids. Her family meant the world to her, and she always put everyone else first, before herself. JoAnne had a passion for bingo in her younger years but playing pogo on the computer became her game of choice. She enjoyed spending time with her family, yard selling, collecting cardinals, playing with her grandchildren, watching baseball (especially the St. Louis Cardinals) and the special car rides Mark and her would go on looking for deer. JoAnne will sadly be missed by her family and friends.
