Obituary

Podgorney, Thelma F., 88, Johnstown, passed away Saturday February 22, 2020 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born January 5, 1932 in Johnstown to the late James and Mary (Gittens) Custer. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick Podgorney; her siblings, James, Ruth and Loretta. Survived by her children, John Podgorney, Joseph Podgorney, James Podgorney (LeeAnn), Thomas Podgorney (Cindy), and Sandra Ruis (Joe); her grandchildren, Steve, Scott, Holly, Ryan, Brent, James, David, Sydney and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Ryden, Kaydee, Katerina and Eliana; her siblings, Jack and Shirley. Thelma loved her family, especially her grandchildren, she enjoyed reading mystery novels, and spending time with her family. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Laurelwood for the wonderful care they provided. Friends and family will be received on Friday February 28, 2020 from 5 to 8 PM at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday February 29, 2020 at the funeral home. Rev. Robert C. Hall, officiating. Interment at Assumption Cemetery.
