Ponchek, Thelma R., 98, Johnstown, passed away July 18, 2018 at her home. Born June 11, 1920 to the late William and Florentine (Sedlmyer) Kudel. Preceded in death by husband Melvin Ponchek; and brothers, Francis and Carl Kudel. Survived by children, Lewis Ponchek (Lois Shaffer); Dolores George (Barry); Janet Ritter (Joseph); Marlene Kotch (Kevin), all of Johnstown. Grandchildren, Randy Ponchek (Amy Hale); Roger Ponchek (Tracie Hoffman); Tina Dibert (Michael); Lisa Benford (John); Amy Sefcik (Steve Turchak); Jamie Hill (Jai); Robert Ritter (Megan Thomas); Michele Walker (Clay); Renee Kruise (Michael Price); James Dallas III (Samantha Partsch); and great grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, and Noah Ponchek; Curtis and Zack Bell; Danielle Homan (Alan); Katie Makin; Josie Sefcik; Amirah and Myles Hill; Broderick, Scarlett, and Anniston Ritter; Jace Walker; Paige Dallas; and James Dallas IV. Thelma was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. She loved cooking, baking, and gardening. Thelma enjoyed playing bingo, camping, watching her favorite Pittsburgh Penguins, and doing all kinds of crafts. She was a member of St. Barnabas In-Stitches and liked to crotchet. Thelma loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Friday July 20 from 2-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. No viewing will be held on Saturday. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
