Obituary

Conrad, Thomas J., 87, Johnstown, passed away Dec. 9, 2016 at his home. Born July 25, 1929 to the late Edward and Mary (Suter) Conrad. Preceded in death by wife, Grace (Smay); son, James Conrad; and siblings, Charles Conrad; Mary Agnes Stanwyck; Ralph Conrad; Margaret Dick; Helen Lowery; and Paul Conrad. Survived by children, Janet Kavar and husband Alex; Jeannie Shepard and husband Charley; Bonnie Dietz and husband Dalton; Brenda Conrad; Jeffrey Conrad and wife Pam; grandchildren, Shawn Conrad; Jeremy Dietz and wife Nikki; Justin Dietz and wife Mary; Jessica Watts and husband Bradley; Kelsie and Erin Conrad; great grandchildren, Jeremy Jr., Julian, Kendra, Libby, Tommy, and June Dietz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas was a member of Church of the Transfiguration and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling. Thomas loved working on and selling cars. He was self-employed and owned Conrad’s Garage. Thomas was a member of Conemaugh Eagles, PNA, and Conemaugh Fire Club. Friends will be received Mon. Dec. 12 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., with military rites at 4 p.m., at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 13 at Church of the Transfiguration. Father Robert Hall, officiating.
