Thomas was a 1957 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High and served in the United States Navy after graduation from ’57-‘59. He served as Lieutenant for the District of Columbia Fire Department Local 36 until his retirement in 1985. Thomas was a member of the Retired Firefighters Assoc., DCFD Emerald Society Pipes & Drums, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he loved life, his family, and especially his grandchildren.
