Carpenter, Vaughn “Ted”, 69, Johnstown, passed away April 27, 2020 at his home. Born January 9, 1951 in Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Preceded in death by parents, Peter and Ada (Wilson) Carpenter; twin brother, Anthony Carpenter; birth mother, Theresa Hill; mother and father in law, Chester Sr. and Mary Ellen Price; brother in law, Chester Price Jr. “Jug”; great nephew, Caleb Price; and uncle, Sam Carpenter and wife Dolores. Survived by loving wife of 45 years, Carol (Price); loving son, Joel and wife, Maud; brothers, Robert (Sue); Charles (Beth); William (Jan); five half siblings and their families; sister in law, Kathleen Price; niece, Carrie (Carpenter) Tuthill and husband Chris and their children, Daniel, Kate, and Michael; nephew, James Price and wife Tracy and their children, Cassandra, Aaron, and Rella; niece, Dawn (Price) Penrod and husband Dan and their children, Nathan, Chelsey, and Braelyn; and numerous cousins and friends. Ted served in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corp. He spent many years working beside his father at Carpenter Brothers grocery store and most recently working with his son Joel at Carpenter’s Automotive Repair & Sales. Ted was a true family man. He enjoyed playing card and board games and chess. Ted most enjoyed being outdoors in the summertime doing yard work, riding his John Deere mower, and taking care of his backyard fishpond. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially football, and movies on TV. Ted was a member of the Parkhill American Legion Post 970 and an active member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 1421 Clapboard Run Road, Johnstown PA 15904 where donations may be sent in Ted’s memory. Services will be held privately.
