Obituary

Sokach, Veronica J., 79, Johnstown, passed away February 10, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born May 31, 1943, to the late Stanley and Laura (Nadonley) Watroba. Preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Leonard, and Stanley Watroba. Survived by husband, Michael J. Sokach II; son, Michael J. Sokach III (Kimberly); brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Spanko (Bob); John Sokach; James Sokach; Deborah Keytack (Mick); Donna Curtis (Jeff); numerous nieces and nephews; and grand fur dogs, Zeus and Molly. Veronica was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church. She was heavily involved in any and all church activities, including spaghetti dinners, making pierogies and gobs, Polka Fest, and many more, for not only Holy Trinity but also St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. She retired after 25 years from MetLife. Family would like to extend a special thank you to DiVita, Nealen nurse Leslie, and any and all medical personnel who helped care for Veronica.
