Rummel, Virginia R., 93, Davidsville, formerly of Middle Taylor Twp., went peacefully to be with the Lord May 11, 2017 at Laurel View Village. Born Nov. 26, 1923, Johnstown, the eldest child of the late Walter and Cora (Harrison) Carney. Preceded in death by her husband, Dean L. Rummel; siblings, Arawana Leckron and Darryl Carney; sister-in-law, Daisy Carney; and brother-in-law, Ralph Leckron. Survived by her children, Melvin Rummel and wife, Fredericka, Johnstown; Patricia Davis and husband, William, VA; Myron Rummel and wife, Jacquelyn, AL; Brian Rummel and wife, Barbara, NC; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Emerson Carney and; and Lee Carney and wife, Rosalie. Virginia was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren where she served the Lord in many capacities including deaconess. She enjoyed gardening and cooking both at home and church gatherings. Virginia also volunteered many hours at the Brethren Home. She instilled in her family the love of God and the lifetime gifts of the Spirit. She was a friend and blessing to many. Friends will be received May 15, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 856 Benshoff Hill Rd., Pastor Philip King, officiating. Interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Harmony, 1414 Plank Rd, Hooversville, PA 15936.
