Carney, Walter L. “Lee”, 87, Johnstown, passed away on December 17, 2019 at Richland Woods. Born December 24, 1931 to Walter and Cora (Harrison) Carney. Preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Virginia, Arawana, and Darrell. Survived by his wife Rosalie E. (Graybill); his children, Jeff Carney, Kimberly Dishong (John), and Sandy Natta (Barry); his grandchildren, Justine, Stephanie, Kristy, Lauren, and Aleah; great-grandchildren, Noah, Riley, Logan, and Mason; his brother, Emerson; his sister-in-law Connie; as well as numerous other members of extended family.  Lee retired after 35 years as a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel, and also worked as a bus driver for several years. Lee was also skilled at paving, roofing, woodworking, carpentry, and farming. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, a member of the Masons, and the Shriners. Lee loved his church, his family, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, gambling, model trains, bowling, basketball, sports in general, and skating (Ice & Roller). Friends and family will be received on Sunday December 22, 2019 from 2 PM to 6 PM at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Funeral service will follow at 6 PM immediately after visitation at the funeral home. Pastor Rob Wolf, Officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at Richland Woods & Windber Hospice for all the caring services they provided.
