Wilbur “Willie” Dukes, 79, Altoona, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at UPMC Altoona. Born August 13, 1943, in Flora, Mississippi; he was a son of the late Leon A. and Johnnie (Davis) Dukes. Also preceded in death by his of 35 years wife, Karen (Woodley) Dukes. Mr. Dukes worked for Commercial Envelope manufacturing. He traveled and lived up and down the east coast with the company. He started his career with the company over 50 years ago as a machine adjuster and later moved on to run his own plant in Wilson, NC. He and his family eventually moved back to PA where he retired. Willie made many close friends throughout the company that he remained in contact with throughout the years. He also spoke with his brothers and sister and other family members on a weekly basis. Willie enjoyed spending time with family, his many friends and neighbors at camp. He is survived by his son, William Dukes of Altoona, stepchildren, Richard Brew and wife Sandy, Northern Cambria, Tony Brew, Northern Cambria, Timmy Brew, Hastings, Robert Mulraney, Misty Mulraney, Ralph Mulraney, all of Altoona; brothers, Joseph “Sonny” Dukes, Clayton “Dicky” Dukes; sister, Doris L. George; grandchildren, Savannah, Alexis, C.J., Manny, and Eryka; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home Inc, 333 Beaver St., Hastings on Saturday February 11, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Barby Trent, officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
