Obituary

Steele, William Leroy Jr., 83, Johnstown, passed away December 21, 2021 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born November 16, 1938 in Lewes, DE. Son of the late William L. Sr. and Minnie (Phippin) Steele. Preceded in death by brother, James Steele. Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Joan M. (Gregorchik) Steele; daughters, Kelli Kornhauser (Robert) of TX and Susan Heffern of CA; step-daughters, Misty Hofmeister (Jon) of Telford, PA and Stacy Spang (Bryan) of Boalsburg, PA; step-sons, Tom Toth of Germany and Todd Toth of Johnstown; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and brothers, Robert Steele and Marvin Steele. William proudly served our country in the U.S. Airforce and worked as a banker and a manager of Cellular One. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church in State College and a member of the American Legion. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 30th, at 10 a.m., at Hindman Funeral Homes, 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902, Pastor Bryan Spang officiating.
