Saloka, Edward E., 82, Johnstown, passed into eternal rest Feb. 5, 2016. Born Nov. 16, 1933 to the late John and Johanna (Piroch) Saloka. Preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Margie Pauline (Fesko); sisters, Ethel and Mary Jane; brothers, John and Frank; brothers-in-law, Frank Seminsky; and Calvin Krause. Survived by children, Kathy Lynn, (Dr. Mark) Gorchesky; Karel Jean, (Edward) Sutter; Edward Johnathon “E.J.”, (Lisa Lentz); grandchildren, Alex Gorchesky; Andrew and Kelsey Sutter; Elizabeth and Stephanie Saloka. Edward leaves behind his sister, Genevieve Krause; brother, Emil and sister-in-law, Margaret (Zahuranec); sisters in-law, Betty and Dorothy; and brother-in-law, Robert Barrett. Edward worked as a self-employed master craftsman. He expertly installed carpeting, tile and linoleum. He served in the US Army 1956-1958. Edward was a member of St. Francis Church, where he was a loyal volunteer for many events, including Men’s Club officer and usher. He also took part in helping the church with holiday baking. Edward liked being in the woods, hunting, growing tomatoes and feeding the bunnies in his back yard. Funeral Mass celebrating Edward’s life will be held at St. Francis Church, 120 Barron Ave., Mon.
