Koplin, William A. 93, Johnstown, died November 19, 2015 at home. Born September 21, 1922 in Johnstown; son of the late Roman and Katherine (Barashofka) Koplin. Preceded in death by wife, Kathryn (Suboleski) Koplin; infant twin brother, John; brothers, Harry, James and Mike and sister, Marie. Survived by children, Karen Whitten married to Melvin, Franklin; William M. Koplin and friend, Catherine Machnics, Christine Helsel married to Ted, and Mark Koplin, all Johnstown; grandchildren, Melissa Whitten, Pittsburgh; Andrew Koplin and Ian Helsel, both of Johnstown; brother, John Koplin, FL; and sister, Anne Jary, OH; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Retired craneman for Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and earned a Purple Heart in WWII. William enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and flowers.
