Ribblett, Theodore “Gene”, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Good Samaritan Medical Center on February 5, 2020 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, at the age of 83. Gene is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Louise (Bozic); children, Pamela Milavec married to Albin Milavec of Windber; Beth Ribblett married to Kerry Tully of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Todd Ribblett married to Melissa Dawson of Johnstown; siblings, Joan Kohler (George Kohler); and Karen Simons (John Simons). He is preceded in death by mother and father, Dorothea and Melvin Ribblett; brothers James Ribblett (Dolores Williams); and Paul Ribblett (Ruth); and sister Barbara Kilk (Merit Kilk). Gene was born on May 20, 1936 in Johnstown Pennsylvania. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1954. He married Patricia Louise Bozic, his high school sweetheart and partner in life, in 1956. Over the next 35 plus years, Gene’s head for business and professional drive resulted in him successfully managing 3 simultaneous careers, including his own Gene’s Marine Sales, working for Bethlehem Steel Company for 33 years, and entering into the family business, Ribblett Bus Corporation begun by his father in 1954. He was also a board member for the South Western Cambria County Water Authority. While managing a very fulfilling work life, Gene and Patty welcomed 3 children into their home and subsequently 4 beautiful granddaughters, Chandrika Milavec, Hannah Ribblett, Sarah Ribblett and Emma Ribblett. Beside his family and career, Gene was an avid outdoorsman, spending most of his free time boating, camping, waterskiing, hunting, snowmobiling and hosting friends and family at their cottage on Lake Raystown. He enjoyed traveling and taking family vacations across the US and Europe. A viewing will be held Friday February 7 from 2-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where a service will then be held Saturday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Lutheran Church at 415 Vine St, Johnstown, PA 15901. The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Medical Center for their kind and caring service.
