Williams – Ronald Marlin, 80, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home under the loving care of his family on the morning of June 6, 2020. Ron was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born March 5, 1940, in Johnstown (Cambria County), son of the late Theodore M. and Florence (Myers) Williams. Preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years, Emma Jean (Knupp), E.J., whom he lost this past February; his siblings, Theodore M. Williams Jr., England; Betty E. Pittman (Eldon), Johnstown; Barbara J. Gavin (Patrick), Johnstown; Brother-in-law, Thomas E. Knupp, Lancaster; Brother-in-law, Richard W. Knupp, Bellefonte; Sister-in-law, Margaret E. Stone (Melvin), Henderson, KY; nephews, Patrick Gavin, Jr. (Davidsville) and Dale Edward Knupp (Bellefonte). Survived by his loving children, Susan Marie Miller and husband Roger, Creekside; Mark Theodore Williams, Johnstown; beloved grandchildren, Brandon William Miller, Sarah Jean Miller, Logan Lamont Miller, Austin John Williams, Jessica Elizabeth-Clare Fuge, Brieann Nicole Dixon (Miller) and husband Cory; great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Ryder and Ashton; Sister-in-laws, JoAnn Knupp (Bellefonte) and Lucille Knupp (Lancaster); Brother-in-law Harry Dale Knupp and wife Barb, State College; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Born and raised in Johnstown, Ron graduated in 1959 from Johnstown High School. After graduation, he began working for Reese Electric Supply, where he met his wife, Emma Jean, whom he married September 18, 1964.  In 1967 he began his career at Penelec/GPU, where he retired as the Chief Storekeeper in 1996 after 29 years of service.  He was an active and proud member of IBEW. He had been an active member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church since 1964.  He was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Men, was a lay speaker, taught Sunday School, and was a lay delegate for the Western PA Methodist Conference. Ron was a licensed taxidermist (since 1965) and practiced taxidermy for over 50 years. He loved hockey, and on top of playing the game was a coach for Hiram Swanks & Sons pee-wee team, where they won the Championship 3 years in a row. He was a Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as his beloved cats (Abby, Lewis, and Jasmine), and his dog (Buddy), all of whom he adored. Ron enjoyed trapping, as well as hunting (small game and fowl were his favorites), skills he learned from his father. But nothing gave Ron more pleasure than fishing. Taught at the age of 5 by his father, Ron spent his entire life fishing, and shared his passion and knowledge of the sport with his children, son-in-law, and grandchildren.  Cove Creek, McGraws, Beaver Creek, and the Little Juniata were amongst his favorite fishing spots.  If Ron had a fishing pole in his hands, he had a smile on his face. Ron and his beloved E.J. are now reunited in the kingdom of Heaven. Per Ronald’s request, there will be no viewing. A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 700 Park Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15901.
