Chambers, Bruce W., age 80, of Johnstown, passed away January 6 at Memorial Medical Center.  He was preceded in death by his parents, J. William “Bill” and Helen (Newman) Chambers, and brother, Douglas R. Chambers. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol (Kimmel) Chambers; son Jeffrey K. Chambers, TN; sister-in-law, Christine D. Chambers, Oakmont, PA; brothers: Rodney P. Chambers, NM; Geoffrey R. Chambers and wife Jeanne, Salem, SC; niece, Robyn Nichols and family; and nephews and their families. Bruce was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of the US Coast Guard where he was ship’s engineman and a tender of the Isle of Shoals Light House off the New Hampshire coast. After the service he was employed at Kimball Engineering in Ebensburg, Bethlehem Steel, US Steel and Royal Plate Glass in Johnstown. For fun, Bruce professionally shot fireworks for events in PA and NY. He also taught SCUBA diving for the YMCA. Bruce enjoyed going to auctions with his wife and friends and sometimes helped clerk for Mishler and Jubic auctioneers. Bruce was an all-around good man who will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. He loved his family, his friends, his home, and his dogs. At his request, there will be no services. Donations may be made in Bruce’s name to the Somerset Humane Society, Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501.
