Sophie “Zosha” Ziemba-Bartina, 92, Johnstown, died March 22, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 20, 1929 in Parkhill to the late Joseph and Mary (Zuzak) Ziemba. Preceded in death by husband, Edward Bartina. Sophie was the last surviving member of 7 brothers and 3 sisters; Frank and Theodore Mercik, John (Sophia), Chester (Ruth), Joseph, Edward, and William Ziemba; Stella Pyshnik (Mike), Helen Salata (Jim), and Adella “Dolly” Ziemba. Survived by daughter, Joyce and son-in-law Mark Lohr; grandson, Scott Lohr and wife Melissa (Gauntner); great grandson, Wesley; sisters-in-law, Genevieve Mercik and June Ziemba, Johnstown; Patricia Ziemba, Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews that Sophie treasured so much. “Zosha” was an excellent seamstress, retired from Millers Clothing in Johnstown. She was always making amazing crafts and working outside in her yard. She was very proud of her Polish heritage. Sophie loved her grandson, Scott with all her heart. She was so very proud of him and his wife Melissa and was thrilled to become a great grandma in 2020. Friends will be received Friday March 26th from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd.
