RODKEY- Rose Mary (Perrone) “Mama Rose”, 87, Johnstown, died July 25, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 6, 1921 in Barnesboro, PA; daughter of the late Frank J. and Concetta (Canonne) Perrone. Preceded in death by husband, August C. Rodkey Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Rockwell, Ann Schompert, and Mary Fantauzzo; brothers Frank and Joseph Perrone.

Survived by children,

Theresa married to A.M. Yarina, Pittsburgh; and their daughter, Angela married to Jim Casey, and their daughter, Alyssa.

John married to Lisa (Bowman), TX; and their children,

Lauren, Brandon, Ryan married to Jamie (Tisdale) and their children, Hunter, Samantha and Preston; John Jr. married to Angela (Mamosai) and their children, Caleb and Landon;

Colleen married to Edward Wyrwas, Conemaugh; and their son, Mark married to Shirley Koshute and their daughter Mikayla;

August Jr. married to Debra Cigich, Vinco; and their children, August III and Zachary;

Elizabeth married to Mark Miller, Vinco; and their son,

Jordan;

Joseph married to Beverly Arnold, Elton; and their children, Adam and Alycia;

Special niece Deborah married to Jeff Kohan.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Along with her husband August, they established and operated “Rodkey’s Grocery”, in Woodvale Heights. She worked as a seamstress in Barnesboro, and served many years as a committee woman for the Democratic Party.

Member of Zion Lutheran Church where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Michael Van Dyke officiating.
