Obituary
McClelland, Walter J. Sr. “Pete”, 93, Johnstown, died August 21, 2012. Born October 26, 1918 in Patton; son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Howe) McClelland. Preceded in death by wife, Dorothy S. (Shrock) McClelland, brother, Sam McClelland and sisters, Gertrude Donehay, Ethel Sherwin and Dorothy Cummings.
Survived by sons, Walter J. McClelland Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Conemaugh Twp. Somerset County and Roger McClelland and wife Karen, Cesil, PA; grandchildren, Mindi Ann (Lawton), Walter J. McClelland III, Marc Alan McClelland, Aaron McClelland, Jacob McClelland and great-grandchildren, Briana and Kevin Lawton, Jillian and Willow McClelland and a baby on the way.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and retired instructor for Hiram G. Andrews Center where he taught building maintenance. He was a member of ALMA IOOF Lodge 523 for 47 years and a member and played the bugle for Menoher Post 155 Military Ritual Team. He also played for Flood City Music Band, Dixieland Band, Civic Band, Reed Band, The Music Makers and GA Combo Band.
Friends received Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service at 10 a.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Pastor Denise Todero CRE, officiating.
