Obituary
Diethrich, Janet E., 78 of Gaithersburg MD, formerly of Hastings PA fought and lost a courageous seven-year battle with Lewy Body Disease. She passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Born: May 23, 1935 in Summerhill, PA daughter of Walden J. and Margaret (Kibler) Drass. Preceded in death by her parents and brother James R. Drass.
Survived by her husband of 56 years Robert J. Diethrich (Bob) at home, Daughters: Lynne Beuerlein (Bob), Hampton, VA, Donna Saxman (Harry), Gaithersburg, MD; Doris Fejka (Richard), Gaithersburg, MD. Grandchildren: Anne, Brian and Eric Fejka, Mark and Scott Saxman Sisters: Nancy Holtz (Adrian), Hastings PA; Patricia Cairns (James), Pittsburgh PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Janet cherished her family and friends; her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She was very happy sewing, quilting, cooking or crafting. Of these many accomplishments she was very proud. Her handiworks are displayed and beloved by those lucky enough to have received them.
Janet and Bob are current members of Our Lady of the Visitation Parish in Darnestown MD and previous members of St. Bernard Church before relocating to MD three years ago.
We are grateful for the outstanding care, compassion and commitment given to Janet by her caregivers and Montgomery Hospice.
Janet will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by her family and friends.
Friends received 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 333 Beaver Street Hastings.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00AM Thursday June 6, 2013, St. Bernard Church, 148 Beaver Street, Hastings, PA. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
