Schmidt, Scott, 60, Vinco, died June 13, 2013 at home. Born May 13, 1953 in Johnstown; son of the late Walter and Beatrice R. (Wilson) Schmidt. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Gary Lamer. Survived by wife of 22 years, Theresa A. (Franke) Schmidt and children,
Amy Schmidt, Jennerstown; Katie Lamer, Johnstown; Dana Schmidt, Chambersburg; Mark Schmidt, Vinco; and John Schmidt, Vinco; sisters, Peg Kudel, and husband, Paul, AZ; Heidi Gallo and husband, Steve, Vinco; Sally Hayes, FL; brothers, George Schmidt, Vinco and Ken Schmidt and wife, Michelle, Sidman. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Scott was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Evangelical Church and a field service mechanic for Cleveland Bros. Heavy Equipment Repair. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his kids and family. He coached little league baseball for E.T.J. and was the commissioner there for numerous years.
Friends received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hindman Funeral homes & Crematory, Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundy’s Corner, Pastor Kevin McNamara, officiating. Committal, Ogden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church towards Relay for Life Team.
