Obituary

Buhek, Mark A., 66, Johnstown, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on March 20, 2014. Born November 26, 1947 in Johnstown; son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary M. (Moran) Buhek. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Survived by wife of 29 years, Cathy A. (Kuckenbrod) Buhek; children, Kevin Kozma and wife, Laura, NC; Jennifer Beers and husband, Edward, Johnstown; grandchildren, Matthew and Evan Kozma, sisters, Evelyn Buhek, NY and Rita Marcinek, Johnstown, also numerous nieces and nephews.
Mark was a Vietnam Era Veteran serving in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry Division Combat Engineers, Korea DMZ from 1967-1969. He retired after 14 years of service on the Johnstown Police Dept. and served at Watervliet NY Arsenal PD, DOD police officer from 1985-1990. He was a life member of VFW Menoher Post 155.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 146 Chandler Ave. Fr. Alan E. Thomas, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
