Obituary

Jones, Richard H. “Dick”, 84, Johnstown, passed away March 22, 2014 at Rosewood Assisted Living Facility. Born May 28, 1929 in Windber, son of the late Joseph and Amanda (Berkey) Jones. Preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Hardy); his grandson David Dodd; his brothers Minter, Berkey “Bud”, Kermit, Joseph, and Mervin Jones; his sisters Ruby, and Hope. He is survived by his children, son Richard Paul Jones; daughter Leann and her husband David Dodd, Florence, SC; daughter Diann and her husband Bill Turnbaugh, Tyrone; son Edward and his wife Lisa, Johnstown; daughter Suzanne and her husband Paul Ritchey, Punxsutawney; his grandchildren Trevor, Heather, Meghan, Ashley, Cassie, Lexi, Kate and Austin; great grandchildren Marissa and Katie; Richard is also survived by his sister Gertrude Weaver, Windber. Richard is also survived by his special friend Barbara Rager.
Richard was a member of Berkey Church of the Brethren. He owned Dick Jones Excavating. Richard was a member of the Greater Johnstowm Masonic Lodge 538. He was active in collecting and showing antique farm equipment, especially tractors. He had a farm with sheep, donkeys, and cows. Friends will be received from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday at Hindman Funeral Home 1521 Frankstown Rd. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the funeral home.
