Obituary
Lawrence A. Diehl, 83, went home to the Lord on Wed., Apr., 9. He was born May 22, 1930 in Johnstown, PA. He was the son of Lawrence and Nellie (Camel) Diehl. He was married to Betty Jane (Meyer) for more than fifty years.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted daughter, Joyce and son-in-law R. James Dietrich of Brookville, PA, granddaughter, Amy Bonnar (wife of Jason) of Beaver, PA , grandson, Robb Dietrich(husband of Emily) of Montoursville, PA, great-grandchildren: Bethany & Jameson Bonnar, Jack & Simon Dietrich, daughter-in-law Carrie Rutherford of North Carolina, brother, Robert Diehl of Florida and sister, Patricia Bouch of Seward, PA., and numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Herbert, and siblings: Ethel, Jane, and Tina.
Larry worked for Bethlehem Steel Co. and as an independent electrician and truck driver before retiring. He loved singing, playing bass and listening to Country Western music. He was a square dance caller for more than fifty years. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Johnstown. After leaving his home in Richland Twp. in 2010, he resided at Jefferson Manor, Brookville, PA where he made many friends and brought smiles and laughter through his music and yodeling.
Friends will be received from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thurs., April 10 at McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville, Pa. and 11 am to 1pm on Fri., April 11 at the Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., Johnstown, Pa. A Service of Witness to the Resurrection and celebration of Larry’s life will begin at 1 pm. Friday, April 11 at the Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. Burial will follow at the Richland Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa.
