Obituary
On Aug 31st Patricia Jane Scholl, 85, went home to be with our Lord. It was her daughter’s honor to be with her and place her in God’s hands as she passed. Her family will never forget how she raised them on her own, as a single mom on the farm outside of Sidman. She loved and lived on the farm for 55 years where her children were given an amazing childhood. When it came time to leave the farm, she made sure it went to a local family. Her children remember she had to be both Mom, Dad and Breadwinner. She drove school bus during the day and cooked at night so her children would never go without. Working as a school bus driver for Miller Motor Company, many of the children she drove to school, even after so many years, visited her or wrote to her in the rest home where she resided until her passing. If you knew Pat very long, she most likely impacted your life. The Boy Scouts of Sidman Troop 243 will remember her taking them by bus to the 1973 National Scout Jamboree. She was always there helping her son’s Scout Troop get to winter camp at Roaring Run or some other destination. She loved camping and managed all aspects of a good camping trip on her own. Her son once said, “my mom is the best of dads, but more than that my mom is the best of Moms.” She recently said she was fortunate to have lived and raised her family in the time that she did. It was a simpler time, when neighbors were extended family, always there at a moment’s notice if you needed a hand. She never wavered in her support of her family or friends. She became a strong, independent woman, not by choice but by circumstance, when being one, was not necessarily popular. Later in life, Pat remarried and was blessed with an amazing husband, Harry Scholl and they enjoyed traveling together across the United States and Canada in their motor home. She was a lifetime member of the Salix Bethel United Methodist Church. Pat was preceded in death by parents, Guy Wright and Darrell (Roberts); husband, Harry Scholl; and daughter, Deborah Stineman. She is survived by daughter, Denice (Stineman) married to Richard Duman; son Evan C. Stineman III married to Sandra (Brawley); grandchildren, Justin Stefanko married to Jean (Vaughn), Kerin Stefanko, Ashley (Stineman) married to Tyler Hayes, Evan C. Stineman IV married to Samantha (Barnhart); and great-grandchildren, Samantha Oklamchak, Mykenzie Stager, Brooke Stager, Wyatt Hayes and Hadley Hayes. Services are being held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salix Bethel United Methodist Church – Stained-Glass Window Fund, in her honor.
