Obituary

Gerber, Caroline L. (Mowery), 64, of Johnstown, passed away, after a fierce battle with liver cancer, on May 21, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born September 5, 1958, in Johnstown, daughter of Charles H. and Donna N. (Holsopple) Mowery. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Charles H. Mowery Jr.   Survived by loving husband of 36 years, Keith J. Gerber Sr.; children, David Kaufman Jr., Christianna (Kaufman) Deaner, and Matthew Gerber (Melissa); sisters, Sharon Kensinger (Richard) of Seaford, DE and Michelle Vargo (Fred) of Homer City, PA. Caroline was a nurse for over 40 years who was very passionate about caring for others. During her many years of nursing, she worked in both Pennsylvania and Maryland. In her down time, Caroline painted, crocheted, and needleworked. Prior to her diagnosis, Caroline loved camping and fishing with her husband. She nearly always caught more fish than him! Caroline was a direct descendant of Joseph Johns, the founder of Johnstown, PA. A private service will be held for close family members. An interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, in Johnstown.
