Obituary

Blake, Jerry M. Sr., 84, of Westover, PA, passed away September 14, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born August 10, 1940, in Westover, son of the late Wayne and Mary (Kitchen) Blake. On October 18, 1958, Jerry married Doris McIlwaine, they shared 52 years together. Jerry drove a milk truck in his younger days and worked at Westover Tannery, Barnes and Tucker Mines #20, and Tanoma Mining Company, where he retired from with 25 years as a miner. He loved growing a garden and playing with Nikki, the family poodle. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Anna Blake; son, Jerry Blake Jr. and wife Janet; grandson, Jason, all of Westover, PA; sister, Ethel Brink, Curwensville, PA; and brother, Howard Leroy, La Jose, PA. Preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Mary Blake; beloved wife, Doris Blake; son, Carl Wayne Blake; and brothers, James, Earl, Paul, Wayne, and Raymond. Family will receive friends Wednesday September 18th from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings, PA 16646. Interment at East Ridge Cemetery.
