Obituary

Deloris K. Latshaw, 85, Somerset, passed away on June 12, 2025. Born December 31, 1939, to the late John P. and Tillie M. (Holder) Stern. Preceded in death by husband, William “Bill” Latshaw; daughter, Susan M. Spangler; and brother, Kenneth M. Stern. Survived by her son, John D. Whipkey (Marcia Friedline); stepchildren, Deborah, Amy, James, Jeffrey, Katie, Binnie, and William; grandchildren, Jesse Spangler (Lindsey), Brent Spangler (Stephanie), Ben Whipkey (Kimberly), Jacob Whipkey (Sara), and Anna Sanner (Robert); great grandchildren, Tyler, Levi, Jocelyn, Liam, Camden, Larson, Easton, Avery, Julie, Katie, Alyssa, Lucas, Gracie, Riley, Nicholas, and Ethan; and sister, Helen “Bean” Bowan. Deloris enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and crafting. She was extremely proud of her Native American heritage. Deloris was a virtuous woman and above all else was a powerful prayer warrior. She was a loving wife and missed her husband dearly. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family. There will be a memorial service held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 3:00 at New Hope Church, 1237 Berlin Plank Road, Somerset, PA 15501, officiated by Pastor Andrew Broucher.
