Obituary

Tomkosky, Albert Joseph, 83, Johnstown, passed away July 24, 2025, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born February 7, 1942, to the late Edward and Margaret (Garleak) Tomkosky. Preceded in death by daughter, Jackie Alicardi; and brothers, Ed Tomkosky (Linda); and Phil Tomkosky. Survived by wife, Carol (Vuckovich) Tomkosky; daughter, Diana Karnes (Matt); grandchildren, C.J. Tomkosky (Rachael); Savannah Mindala; Teresa Marion (Grady); great grandchildren, Albert Tomkosky; Mya Nanna; Dimitri Marion; siblings, Peggy Thompson (Bob); Jack Tomkosky (Cheryl); sister-in-law, Mary Tomkosky; and his entire Alcove family. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Al returned home and opened the Alcove Lounge, which his life then revolved around for the next 57 years. Family will receive friends Wednesday July 30^th for a memorial gathering from 4 p.m. until time of military honors at 6 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Private interment at Grandview Cemetery.
