Lewis, Cynthia, 66, Johnstown, passed away September 14, 2025.

Cindy was a devoted nurturer and a beacon of kindness whose love for children and animals left a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know her. She found joy and purpose in raising children, owning her own daycare where she fostered a warm and caring environment for young lives to flourish. Cindy also served as the head of the children’s department at the First Church of the Nazarene in a small New Jersey town, dedicating herself to guiding and uplifting the community’s youngest members.

A true champion of compassion, Cindy founded the Facebook help page “Hearts that Care,” extending her generous spirit beyond personal circles to offer support and kindness to many. She was known to give selflessly—quite literally, she would give you the shirt off her back if it meant making a difference.

Her love for animals was fierce and genuine. Cindy was a temporary co-owner of a non-profit animal rescue, where her passion for protecting and caring for animals shone through. To Cindy, every person was family, and she treated them as such, welcoming and embracing all with open arms and a loving heart.

Cindy’s loving legacy is carried on by her two children, Jacob and Sarah, and her cherished grandchildren Lydia, Joselyn, and Christian. Her spirit of generosity, warmth, and care will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
