Obituary

Tinkle, Ronald Claire “Ron,” 91, Johnstown, passed away May 25, 2026, at his home. Born September 8, 1934, son of Clifford M. and Elizabeth (Kish) Tinkle. Preceded in death by wife, Beverly (Kullick) Tinkle; brother, Clifford Tinkle; sister, Shirley Grzybicki (Leo); nephew, Randy (Gryzbicki) Eastman; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sonia (Walters) Kullick. Survived by son, Joel Tinkle; grandchildren, Brianna Tinkle (Ryan Walsh); Nathaniel Tinkle; sister-in-law, Delores Tinkle; nephew and nieces, Ronald Grzybicki married to Pam Gryzbicki; Kerrie (Kullick) Roth married to Louis Roth; Jacqueline (Kullick) Diamonstein married to Ed Buxbaum; and beloved pup, Allie. Ron was a U.S. Army veteran, being honorably discharged. He retired from Bethlehem Steel as a general clerk and proudly served as a passionate union organizer for the United Steelworkers, working over the years tirelessly to organize the Johnstown mills. Ron was a member of Christ the Saviour Orthodox Cathedral. He was an avid golfer, being a member of a few golf leagues over the years with his teams named champions in a number of amateur tournaments. As of lately, Ron found great enjoyment and was very involved in the Windber Senior Center. Family and friends will be received Friday May 29^th from 4-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., with a Panachida service at 6 p.m. Funeral service to be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Christ the Saviour Orthodox Cathedral. Very Rev. Protopresbyter Robert Buczak, officiating. Committal to follow at Christ the Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
