Obituary

RAMETTA – Charles P. Sr., 87, of Johnstown died January 12, 2012. Born June 11, 1924 in Johnstown; son of the Late Carmello and Antoinette Rametta.

Preceeded in death by wife Josephine (Andolina) Rametta; brothers, Sam and Samuel; sisters, Connie Rametta and Mary Krasovic.

Survived by son, Charles J. Rametta Jr. married to Mary (Helis), Johnstown; grandchildren, Jeffrey Rametta of San Jose, CA; Justin Rametta and fiance Jaclyn Sumner of Garner, NC; Amy Rametta of White Plains, NY; Ashlee married to Ryan Clemente of Johnstown; and Allison Rametta of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Angelina Phillips of Southgate, MI; sister in law, Lucy Rametta of Palm Desert, CA; niece, Sandy married to Ed Wojnaroski of Johnstown; nephew, Anthony Rametta of Harrisburg, and special niece, Rose Mirto of Johnstown; and also numerous other nieces and nephews. Very special thanks and appreciation to the caring friends at Horizon Hospice.

Charles was a lifelong member of St. Therese Catholic Church and a 1943 graduate of Johnstown Central High School. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in WWII and received two purple hearts. He retired as the service manager for Rudy Haupts Chevrolet.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rev. Bernard Karmanocky, O.F.M. officiating.
