Obituary

LAMB – John Maynard Jr., 68, Johnstown, died August 1, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 23, 1942 in Elizabethtown, NJ; son of the late John M. Sr. and Ida (Fern) Lamb. Preceded in death by sister, Joyce Evans. Survived by wife of 44 years, Sondra (Varnish);daughters, Jackie Varnish, York; Janine married to Andy Jones, Johnstown; Jessica married to Boyd Wingard, Johnstown; grandchildren, Allyson Frick, Mitchell and Kylee Taylor, Maxxwell Jones, Nathan, Stephen, and Anna Belle Wingard, sister, Virginia married to David Carvin, Thomasville, GA; and numerous friends.

Upon graduation, John entered the US Navy. He worked as a supervisor for Penelec for 33 years. He was Treasurer of the Greater Johnstown Seafood Club for 30 years where he met many of his great friends. His passions were hunting and fishing and he had a great love for the outdoors. His greatest love though was his 7 grandchildren.

Friends received Thursday 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory. Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Conemaugh Hospice in his memory and condolences may be sent through the funeral home website.
