Obituary
Widmann, Paul,(PJ),73
Paul was peacefully called by God Oct 18th, 2011, ending his defiantly- fought -battle against the manifestations of Parkinsons…which began over 30 years ago.
Born Sept. 5th, 1938 in Johnstown, Pa. to Tom and Ruth Widmann, he grew up in Geistown. He attended St. Benedicts grade school, and graduated from the former Johnstown Catholic High School in 1956.
Preceded in death by father Tom. Survived by mother Ruth, son Greg and wife Patty, Somerset, Pa., daughter Stacy, brother Bill and wife Stephanie, Bybee, Tn. and sisters Elaine Barton and husband Bruce, Gibsonton, Fl., Susan Smith and husband Dean ,Bybee, Tn. Also survived by his grandchildren Angel, Sean and wife Missy, Candice, Julius and Paul.
Paul had a great love for his uncle John Adams, and could not have been prouder to share a friendship with Ron Samuel. Retired from Miller-Picking Corp., Paul owned the former Chapple Inc. and was a past president of A.S. H.R.A.E.
Paul’s strong work ethic included working for his parents at Widmann Beverage, peddling Fuller-Brush, and Electrolux products, singing to the St. Benedicts school students- in his care- as their bus driver, an ironworker, and a sheet metal fabricator for Bill Chapple. As much as he enjoyed traveling and flying his plane, Paul also managed to operate an aircraft painting-restoration enterprise. It’s a wonder he had time for hunting camp, Paul practically lived there. At Paul’s request there is no public viewing. Paul wishes to be remembered as his family and friends remember him: keeping with Paul’s written words, “A positive attitude and sense of humour.”
