Obituary

Partsch, Albert G., 83, Johnstown, died December 20, 2011 at Windber Hospice. Born May 21, 1928 in Conemaugh Township, Cambria County. Son of the late Frank W. and Agnes M. (Kohler) Partsch. Preceded in death by brothers Donald, Herbert and Sister Joanne Partsch.

Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Mary (Springer) Partsch. Survived by these children; Barry married to Esther (Apple), Alan and special friend Denise all of Johnstown, Agnes married to Daniel Marguccio of Richland, and Veronica married to David Varner of Hooversville.

Also survived by Grandchildren Philip, Katie, Jason, Amanda, Jessica, Nicholas, Jill, Nathan, Alyssa and great granddaughter Lily. Brother of Dorothy Stroz, Anthony Ed, and Harold all of Johnstown and Victor of Windber and Raymond of Sidman. Also survived by his border collie.

Member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Gautier Division after 31 years of service and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Albert enjoyed hunting, working around the house, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren meant the world to him who he would do anything for and they would do the same in return for him.

Albert was also an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. He was a walking encyclopedia when it came to historic dates, if asked when someone was born, married, or died he could recite the month and year it happened. Most of all Albert had a big heart and whenever a friend, neighbor, or relation needed something they knew he was just a phone call away and would drop whatever he was doing to help out.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc 1521 Frankstown Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Friday St. John Gualbert Cathedral Very Rev James F. Crookston officiating. Committal St. Joseph cemetery military rites by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team.
