Obituary

Forsythe, Alex W. “Sonny”, 80, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2024. Born September 13, 1944, to the late Alexander Wynn and Mary Ellen (Mundorff) Forsythe. Preceded in death by numerous siblings and his other mother Twila Forsythe (Kapcsos). Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maryann L. Forsythe (Babich); children, Alexander W. Forsythe, Jr., Tina M. Delic (Timothy Hudson), and Marcy Naugle (Timothy Grant); grandchildren, Jeremy M. Eppley (Kaylee Varga), Kayla Eppley (Alex Goch), Jesse Naugle, and Jayme Naugle (Catlin Bukovitz); great-grandchildren, Cassie, Declan, and Jaxson Goch; siblings, Richard Kapcsos, Louise Yagodich, Christine Nugent, and Kathleen Hofecker; numerous nieces and nephews; and dogs, Lucy Lu, Maggie Mae, and Gabriella Rose. Alex was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching the Steelers, motorcycles, shooting pool, and making others laugh. He was baptized 2 years ago at the Sidman Mount Olive Church. Above all else, Alex was a family-oriented man who will be deeply missed. Family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
