Obituary

Mroczka, Bernard John “Bernie”, 74, Johnstown, departed this Earth March 18, 2026. Born March 6, 1952, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph F. and Elizabeth M. (Karan) Mroczka; infant sister, Carol; infant brother, David; grandparents, John and Josephine (Kaminski) Mroczka; and Nicholas and Anna (Rosko) Harchar-Karan. Survived by brothers, Raymond (MaryAnn); Richard (Lourdes); William; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bernie was a 1970 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and IUP – associates degree. His career fields included cosmetology, accounting, finance management, and food service. Former employee of Memorial Medical Center – downtown Lee Campus. Active member of St. Labre Indian School Education Association – Ashland, Montana, Lamda International, Philadelphia, and PETA. He was an avid advisor to all his friends. His interests included art, horticulture, interior design, home improvements, and cooking. Bernie also volunteered his time helping friends and people he cared about. His motto in life was to respect everyone with kindness, enjoy each day with a good attitude, get to know yourself, find out what your abilities are and keep adding new ones. He will be missed by all who knew him. Family and friends will be received Friday March 27^th from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Interment to follow at Richland Cemetery. The beauty of one’s life can only be measured by the quality of love in it.
