Obituary

Bertha E. Owens, 61, Johnstown, PA, passed away on April 23, 2025. Born September 28, 1963, in Johnstown, PA, to the late Clifford and Lois (Cox) Smay. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Delaney Owens; and sisters, Lisa Shaffer, Denise Mathis, and Bonnie Kinsey. Survived by her loving husband, John Owens; sons, John Owens III (Danielle), Matt Owens (Kayla Ream), and Kristopher Owens (Alyssa Beitsinger); grandchildren, Evan Owens, Paisley Owens, John Owens IV, and Peyton Owens; brothers, Clifford Smay, Mark Smay, and Bernard Smay; sister, Joanne Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bertha was family oriented and loved her children and grandchildren above all else. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all her family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 10:00am at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902. All are welcome to attend.
