Obituary

Daniel Patrick Morgan, age 71, passed away on May 10, 2025. Born on August 20, 1953, son of late Bill and Eileen Morgan, and brother to late Dave and Chris. Dan is survived by his two children, Erica (Randy) Yoder and Bill (Brandi) Morgan; his four grandchildren, Kerensa, Kendra, Kaitlyn, and Lucas; and his seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his ex-wife, Evelyn Morgan, and long-time companion, Jennifer Oakes.

Dan will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, dry sense of humor, and willingness to care for others. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a retired dental assistant from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Throughout his life he was active in local theater, both acting and directing, and taking part in numerous shows and theater troupes. Theater had long been his passion, ever since his college years at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. His appearances were too many to count but some of his favorite roles included Elwood P. Dowd in “Harvey,” Greg in “Sylvia,” and one of his earliest roles as Shakespeare in “A Cry of Players.”

Dan also loved his animals. He took particular joy in walking his dogs, Maggie and Kenzie, and spent many happy hours hiking with them through Stackhouse Park.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services. His ashes will be spread in that park which he held dear and spent so many hours. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Dan’s name may be made to a local pet rescue organization or community theater group, allowing his passions to carry on without him.
