Obituary
Frank W. Pollock, age 94, of Indiana, PA, formerly of Homer City, PA, died on October 31, 2012 at the home of his daughter Kimberly Ann Ostruh. He was born on November 7, 1917, in Cabotsville, PA, to the late Frank G. and Molly E. Rhoades Pollock. He graduated from Turtle Creek High School, Turtle Creek, PA in 1936, where he excelled in track and field, football, and baseball. Frank continued to play sandlot baseball for many years after graduation. A WWII veteran, Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Frank was the owner of Frank W. Pollock Excavating from 1954 to 1968, and also operated heavy earth moving equipment for various construction companies in the Pittsburgh, PA area, until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Clara Brady Pollock, brothers, Richard, Warren, Oliver, and George; sister, Olive Ile; and precious grandchildren, Robert Morrow and Amber Ostruh. He is survived by his brother Walter, and sister Alice Cardinale. Frank is also survived by his loving sons Richard Pollock and wife Linda of Baldwinsville, NY; James Pollock and wife Lauretta of Lewisberry, PA; Robert Pollock and wife Beverly of Saltsburg, PA; Allan Pollock and wife Ava of Vernon, CT; Vernon Pollock and wife Marcella of Black Lick, PA; loving daughter Kimberly Ann Ostruh and husband Terry of Shelocta, PA; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces who affectionately called him “Pap”.
