Obituary

Ashcom, Gary “Spud”, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 24, 2020 at his home. Born August 20, 1951 to the late Robert and Valeria (Kluchar) Ashcom. Gary was preceded in death by daughter Carol; brothers, Robert, John (Jeannine), Gregory (Sylvia), and Eugene; sister, Delores; and niece Johanna. Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years Sonya (James), son, Gregory (Misty Wilson); daughter, Rosey (Dennis) Ricks; grandchildren, Brock, Bryce Ashcom, Aneesa, Trey Almaguer, Gavin Davis, plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the American Legion. Gary also worked as a coal miner and later as a maintenance man for Saint Casimirs Church. A loving husband, devoted father, and an awesome Pap. Gary enjoyed his family and all his grandchildren. His sense of humor and contagious laugh will be sadly missed. Gary had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand. At Gary’s request there will be no viewing and a memorial service/dinner will be held at later date for the family.
