Obituary

Fisanick, George, 80, Hastings, went to be with the Lord February 10, 2016 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born April 23, 1935 in Susquehanna Twp., Son of Stephen and Mary (Zagata) Fisanick. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Virginia Pavia, and Elizabeth Kimball. George is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary (Rogal) Fisanick, his children Barbara Beam and her husband Michael, Tyrone; Kathryn Higgins and her husband Patrick, New Kensington; his grandchildren, Bethany Higgins, Megan Higgins, David Higgins, Andrew Beam, Emily Beam, and Matthew Beam; his brothers John Fisanick (Joan), Northern Cambria, his brother Stephen Fisanick Jr. (Carolyn), Patton; his brother Michael Fisanick (Andrea), his brother–in-law Richard Rogal (Nancy), his sister-in-law Carol Flurie; He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. George served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, he worked as union Bricklayer for 25 years, and also worked as a surface miner for 13 years at Martin Bearer Mining, and also served as the caretaker at St. Lawrence cemetery for many years. He was always willing to help a friend. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church; a lifetime member of the Patton VFW, George enjoyed hunting, playing pool, watching NASCAR, and was a fan of the New England Patriots. Friends and family will be received Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings. There will also be a time of Visitation on Monday February 15, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger Officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Hastings VFW Post # 1586. Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery.
