Obituary
BALOGH James Jr., 54, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord after battling a terminal illness.
He died peacefully November 29, 2011, at home.
Born June 1, 1957, in Johnstown, son of James E. and Margaret L. (Slis) Balogh.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Bertha Balogh, and Matthew and Susan Slis.
Survived by parents; and sisters,
Bonnie, married to Craig Kern, Erie, PA;
Vickie Newton, Moreno Valley, CA;
Sharon, married to Steve Matsko, Richmond, VA;
Lori, married to David Lindbergh, Whitsett, NC;
Barbara, married to Craig Williamson, Charlottesville, VA; and
Pamela, married to Donald Knight, Citrus Heights, CA;
Also, 12 nieces and nephews, 1 great-niece, and 1 great-nephew.
Graduated from Richland High School in 1975 and attended Penn State University, majoring in meteorology. He was self-employed most recently as weather observer and owner of AVMET Services, INC, providing meteorology services to the Pittsburgh Intl. Airport.
Loved the outdoors, gardening, biking, vacations in Florida, his salt-water fish tank, and most important his love for weather since childhood. Most recently he enjoyed time as his mother’s BINGO companion. A special thanks to everyone who helped Jim enjoy his evenings playing BINGO.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends of old and new.
Friends and family received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Scalp Avenue.
