Obituary

Gilkey, Janet Arlene, 88, Johnstown, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 27, 2017 at Richland Healthcare and Rehab Center. Born May 22, 1929 in Johnstown to the late Clarence and Zora (Hess) Horner. Preceded in death by son, Ira J. Gilkey; siblings, Lee Horner; Ruby Overman; Dorothy Freeman; Betty Lou Krisay; Rose Fenik. Survived by son, Edward Gilkey Jr., wife Deborah (Hoover), of Johnstown; daughter in law, Denise (Thomas) of Johnstown; granddaughter, Amy Beth Stuzinski and her husband Matthew, of Palmyra, PA; siblings Doris Jean Page; and Clarence Horner Jr. both of Johnstown. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Arlene was a foster grandmother for students at Greater Johnstown School District for 10 years and taught Child Evangelism Good News Clubs for over 20 years.  At request of the deceased there will be no viewing and services will be held at the convenience of the family.
