Matse, Jr., John, 95, passed away on June 29, 2025. Born on July 4, 1929, to the late John and Mary (Mattie) Matse. Preceded in death by loving wife, A. Darlene (Beltrami) Matse; grandsons, Shawn Matse and Christopher Oldham; great grandson, Aiden Oldham; and brothers, George and Edward Matse. Survived by daughters, Joyce Matse-Kelly (Frank) and Cynthia Berns; son, John “Jim” Matse (Carol); grandchildren, Michael (Brooke), Jason (Jadie), Michelle, Ashlee (Brian), Nicholas, David, Zachary, Annie (Anthony), John, and Mila; great grandchildren, Kyra, Mikaila, Anthony, Kiarra, Elijah, Codie, and Jeremiah; 2 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Diane, Connie, Genie, Ron, Mark, and Cathy; special friend, Carol; and numerous extended family. John worked at Gallikers and Consolidation Coal Company. He was an avid sports fan, specifically the Steelers. John will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. There will be no services at this time.
