Obituary

Faust – Joseph E., 93, Johnstown, died October 3, 2010 at the Pallative Care Unit of Memorial Medical Center. Born April 20, 1917 in Windber; son of the late Arthur J. Faust and Nellie (Hobba) Faust Berkey. Preceded in death by wife, Janet A. (Raymond) Faust; sisters, Ann Nicholls; Thelma Stutzman; and Mildred Faust.

Survived by children, Arthur David Faust, Johnstown; Diane Guy married to Perry, Wilmington, NC; Debbie Osborne married to Bob, Leland, NC; Denise Bock married to Roger, Johnstown; Grandchildren, Dustin Lovrich, Roger and Joey Bock, and Nick Osborne. Also, in-laws, Leroy Stutzman, Ralph and Nat Raymond all of Johnstown, and Donald and Myrle Raymond of Susanville, Ca.

In his early years, Joe worked for the Johnstown Traction Company where he made some lifetime friendships. He also owned the Atlantic Service Station in Cambria City. He retired as a Tank Mechanic from the 103rd National Guard Armory. A US Army veteran, he proudly served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Korean Veteran Association of Johnstown; and the Johnstown Area Genealogical and Historical Society.

He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and a lover of the Lawrence Welk orchestra. Although his “golden years” were hindered by the loss of his eyesight and limited hearing, he continued to enjoy his days listening to the music of the 30s and 40s or listening to the great political debates on FoxNews. His memory was incredibly detailed and he loved to sit with family and friends, with pipe in hand, reminiscing about the “good old days”.

Friends received 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. 1521 Frankstown Rd. where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dr. Rev. Brian Armen officiating. Committal Richland Cemetery with military honors by VFW Menoher Post 155. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 Ash Street, Johnstown, PA, 15902 in his memory.
