Obituary

Kenneth D. Thomas, 85, of Hastings passed away Monday July 22, 2024 at home. Born February 21, 1939, in Spangler; a son of the late Henry and Evelyn (Mitchell) Thomas. Also preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Thomas; son-in-law, Steve Deslich; siblings, Sally Widman, Bill Thomas and Evelyn Angert. Ken was a 1957 graduate of Hasting Elder High School. He served in the US Army. He retired from General Motors Lordstown Ohio Plant. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings Fire Club and Hastings VFW, where he served on their honor guard for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survived by his wife, Gloria J. (McAndrews) Thomas; children, Kathleen Deslich, Columbus, OH; Ronald Thomas, Youngstown, OH; grandchildren, Benjamin Deslich, Abbigail Thomas, Henry Thomas, and Jacob Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11 a.m., St. Bernard Catholic Church, Fr. Thaddeus Rettger O.S.B., officiating. Viewing one hour prior at the church. Military Honors by the Hastings VFW. Burial at St. Boniface Cemetery.
