Obituary

Blue, Lauren E., 56, of Johnstown died Saturday March 14, 2015 at LaurelWood Care Center. Born September 3, 1958 in Johnstown; she is a daughter of Ronald and Nancy (Bowden) Blue. She is preceded in death by a brother, Damon Blue; grandparents, Nellie Bowden Hedges, Robert Bowden, David E. and Ethel Blue. Surviving are her parents, Ronald and Nancy Blue, Johnstown; sister, Meghan Beeby and brother-in-law John, Ithaca, NY; nephew, Travis Blue, Johnstown; aunt, Rebecca Bowden, Johnstown; special friend, Ed; numerous cousins; and her faithful dog, Missy. Lauren was a social worker who loved helping others. She had worked at the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Center, Association for the Blind and United Cerebral Palsy. She was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and the Red Hat Society. Lauren enjoyed Irish music, helping animals, spending time with friends and family, and was a great cook. There will be no viewing. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
