Obituary

Scott, Margaret M. 78, Lower Yoder Township, was called home by the Lord on March 24, 2026. Born on July 6, 1947, to the late Samuel and Armella Scott. Preceded in death by parents; brother, William; sisters, Betty Scott; Armella (Scott) Smith; brother-in-law, Raymond Smith; and nephew, Larry Smith. Survived by her beloved sister, Pansy Scott; nieces, Linda and Kimberly Smith; nephew, Ronald Scott; and cousins, Vivian Slachta; Rob and Nicki Merritts; and Susan Allen. Her special friends included, Kathy Bednarik; Rita Kopco; Mike and Rose Beblar; Jonnine Urban; Kathy Legat; Denise Leck; Audrey Coshun; Steve and Mike Filo; and special caregivers, Nikki Davis and Tammy Lentz. Margaret was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church choir, the Oremus Prayer Group and Rosary Society. Her love of children led her to become a CCD teacher, especially for the First Communion class; made annual donations to the St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Center and Shriner’s Hospital for Children. She loved traveling with her sister and special companions, Suzanne Timik and Monica Ripple, going on trips to Germany, Italy, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and many cruises. Margaret joins her brother and sisters in watching over and guiding her beloved traveler still on earth. She will be deeply missed. Special thanks to Cecilia Niederer, Frank Bazyk, and Rhonda Stibich for bringing the Eucharist to Pansy and Margaret during her convalescence. Family will receive friends Wednesday April 1^st from 10:15 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 120 Barron Ave. Conventual Franciscan Friars, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Francis of Assisi Church, or for Masses.
