Obituary

Chigas, Michael G. – 58, Hastings, passed away March 14, 2015, at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born January 19, 1957 in Spangler; son of the late George B. and Mary (Kovalcin) Chigas. Preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Carol (Dankert). Survived by his sons, Shaun (Angel) Chigas, Hastings; Terrence Chigas, Hastings; his grandchildren Rylie Brynn Chigas, Kylie Chigas, and Drake Chigas; his sister Marie (David) Boggetta, Hastings; his nephew Chad (Reese) Boggetta; his great niece Brooklynn; He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, and his caretaker Danielle Dimmick. Michael was a Steel Worker for Bethlehem Steel. He was very active with the Hastings Volunteer Fire Company Station #55 and the Hastings Fire Club. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and firefighting. Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday March 17, 2015 at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver Street. A funeral mass will be held at 11am Wednesday March 18, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger Officiating. Interment at St. Bernard Cemetery.
